Fruit kebabs

Yum, yum, fruit kebabs! As part of our healthy food unit we decided to make these using our favourite fruits - apples, manderins, kiwifruit and banana! (We even added a marshmellow as a special treat!) We all got to make them and then eat them before writing a fantastic story in our writing books. What a delicious story writing lesson!!

Elephant art

We made some elephant pictures earlier this term after we had visited the zoo. First we had to draw our elephants - thinking carefully about the legs and trunk! We went over the lines with black vivid and then we coloured them with grey crayons. We went outside and coloured on the concrete so it would look like texture on the elephant's skin! Miss Baker cut them out and put them on the wall with our elephant stories.

M&M lolly challenge

Last week during mathematics we participated in the M&M challenge!
We had to sort and tally count our M&Ms and graph them according to what we each had.
When we were finally finished and Miss Baker had checked it...we got to eat the M&Ms!!
We think that is a really good way to work on our maths skills!!

Yummy popcorn!

BubbleShare: Share photos - Find great Clip Art Images.

We are learning all about healthy foods and decided to make healthy popcorn in room 7. We air popped our corn and did not add any butter, oil or salt. It was great fun watching it spin around in the machine, it was a bit like a tornado and then it exploded like a volcano out the top and into the bowl for us to eat it! Yum, we like popcorn!

Autumn leaf stories

BubbleShare: Share photos - Easy Photo Sharing

We took lots of macro photos around school of the autumn leaves. After we wrote our stories, Miss Baker typed them onto the leaf photos that we took. They are all on our classroom wall but here are a few to share!

We have been playing with the software called Comic life and created these alphabet posters for our letters of the week. We first saw this idea on another blog from room 3 at Whakarongo School down in Palmerston North. We love coming up with ideas for photos and when we get a new camera we will be taking them ourselves!
